NT Major Projects Conference to be held this November in Darwin « Back

We are excited to announce the first annual NT Major Projects Conference which will be held on 15-16 November 2010 at the Darwin Convention Centre. The conference is supported by the Northern Territory Government.

With the recent release of the 2010-11 State budget, the Northern Territory’s economic future will be secured with the $1.8 billion infrastructure program. The investment will assist in delivering better hospitals, school and housing. It will focus on key Government priorities including Territory 2030 – the government’s 20 year strategic plan; and a Working Future – the strategy in place to improve NT’s remote communities.

The NT Major Projects Conference 2010 will be the leading construction & infrastructure conference in the state with an anticipated attendance of more than 250 delegates. The 2 day event will focus on the significant investments being made by the NT government into major projects that are currently being worked upon as well as projects that are in the pipeline. It will cover the different sectors of construction and infrastructure projects that are relevant to the future growth of NT, including Housing, Education, Health, Regional Planning, Ports, Roads, Rail, Water, Resources, Minerals, Sustainability and the overall State Development.

The conference will provide the ideal opportunity to examine projects shaping the state with the main aim being to assist both the public as well the private sector in better understanding the NT market and providing them with an effective, efficient and environmentally viable means of being involved with projects.

Presentations from leading government and industry specialists will explore the design, planning, construction and implementation of major projects as well as a strategic analysis of the opportunities and challenges that will define these ambitious expansions for accelerating the Northern Territory's development.

With so much happening in the state, the 2 day conference will provide its delegates with the perfect opportunity to discuss topics and issues presented and provide fantastic networking opportunities. The conference room will be set up in cabaret style with a question & answer segment in place to encourage and enable delegates’ opinions to be presented.
